Our Story
Fripsquare was born from a simple observation. We are a generation that deeply loves fashion, beautiful things, and trends. But we are also a generation that is becoming aware of the impact of its consumption.
For a long time, these two realities seemed incompatible.
Why continue to produce millions of garments when our planet is already overflowing with forgotten treasures?
At Fripsquare, we are convinced that it is possible to dress stylishly without contributing to textile overproduction.
Fashion is a perpetual cycle. A well-chosen vintage piece can transcend decades, be worn in a thousand ways, and tell a new story with each person who wears it.
It is this vision that gave birth to Fripsquare Vintage Store.
Our mission is simple: to make second-hand desirable, accessible, and easy.
We scour for you the most beautiful vintage pieces, selected one by one, so that you can enjoy the best of fashion without spending hours rummaging through flea markets or yard sales.
Each garment is carefully inspected, washed, and prepared before joining our store or website.
The Founders
The story begins with Maïté, who has always been passionate about fashion.
After several experiences in e-commerce, notably in Switzerland and then in Manchester for the brand Missguided, she discovered the behind-the-scenes of the fashion industry and its excesses.
Soon, it became clear: there is another way to consume.
In 2020, she launched Fripsquare with a simple ambition: to show that second-hand can be as inspiring, trendy, and desirable as new.
Even today, she personally selects a large part of the pieces, designs the collections, develops the website, and shares the adventure on social media.
Her mission: to change the image of second-hand and inspire a new way of consuming fashion.
In 2023, the adventure took on a new dimension when Willy officially joined the project.
A former manager in specialty coffee, passionate about customer experience and the coffee shop world, he then conceived a unique concept in Lausanne: bringing together a specialty coffee shop and a vintage store under one roof.
From space design to recipe creation, and team development, Willy built the Fripsquare Café universe with one idea in mind: to create a warm place where people want to stay.
Today, Fripsquare is no longer just an online store or a thrift store.
It's a true living space.
The team
What started as a project driven by two enthusiasts has become a fast-growing company.
Today, more than 40 employees contribute daily to making Fripsquare a success, across the cafe teams and the vintage store teams.
Everyone shares the same vision: to offer an exceptional experience, promote more responsible consumption, and develop this project with passion.

The shop
For two years, Fripsquare operated out of an 11m² former gas station in the Sous-Gare district of Lausanne.
A small, unconventional space where a big adventure was born.
Today, we have moved a few streets away to create a much larger space where fashion, coffee, and community meet.
You'll find:

The Coffee Shop
At Fripsquare, coffee isn't just an afterthought.
It's an integral part of the experience.
Conceived and developed by Willy, Fripsquare Café is a friendly place where you can work, meet friends, or take a break during a shopping session.
